Quick & delicious Bread Besan Toast recipe with step-wise pictures. Make this easy Besan Toast, also called as vegetarian bread omelet for quick snack, breakfast or dinner!

    Bread Besan Toast

Last week I shared the recipe for Sourdough Sandwich Bread and today, I am sharing a super simple recipe using the Sandwich Bread. Quick to whip up and really delicious – Bread Besan Toast. As the name suggests, it is a toast made on stove top in a flat pan – preferably cast-iron tawa. Besan means gram flour and this toast is made with batter made from Besan. In India, there are many recipes with similar ingredients and subtle differences. I have already shared Bread Bajji recipe which is also made with Sandwich Bread and Besan. But this besan toast is made on flat tawa, cooking the besan batter slowly until crisp.

    Bread Besan Toast

In Bread Besan Toast, I usually make the batter with mixed vegetables. Finely chopped onions, tomatoes, capsicums are usually added into the batter. You can also add other vegetables, either grated or finely chopped. As it is loaded with veggies, it makes for a filling breakfast or even a simple dinner. I usually serve this with some tomato ketchup but our favorite is spicy green chutney. Just like their deep-fried counterparts, these besan toasts remain crispy even after cooling down and that’s what I find really interesting about this recipe.
