Wonderful recipe! I made this for my mother-in-law's birthday while she and my father-in-law were visiting the States from Bengalore. The recipe was very easy to follow, and the cake came out beautifully! I will definitely be checking out some of your other recipes to make for my husband when he gets homesick for some South Indian cooking!

In reply to Nimisha Kahar. Hi Nimisha, You can surely use gulab jamun ready mix for this but I am not too sure of the ready cake mix too, as I have never used it before. If you have made vanilla flavored cake from ready mix before and if it worked well, you could use it and assemble the cake as I mentioned in the recipe. Let me know how it goes :)
