Easy no yeast Tawa Pizza recipe with step-wise pictures. No fuss recipe on how to make pizza without oven. Quick stove-top veg tawa pizza recipe.
I love homemade pizza recipes and I have already posted a fair share here but one of my long times wishes was to make a no yeast pizza and then I have one of the readers’ request for it as well. As it was long time due, decided to make Veggie Tawa Pizza. I just went ahead with a simple pizza recipe without adding yeast. I used baking powder as the raising agent since I was going to make this on the tawa. It exceeded my expectations for a pizza recipe and I am 100% sure this is going to be one my favorite ways to make pizzas at home now.
The biggest disadvantage while making Tawa Pizza or making pizza without oven is that it misses the heat from the top which comes otherwise from a hot oven. The cheese would be bubbly but the crust is not going to be golden around the edges. But let me tell you why this no-yeast no-oven pizza is still a great success and you should make it often –
- It is easy to make, doesn’t require any prior practice making pizza or I should say, patting pizza is not simple and rest assured, this recipe doesn’t require any patting at all.
- The pizza crust is very crispy and thin, cooks in no time at all. If you are like me, can’t wait for the pizza to be made in an oven – this recipe is for you.
- If you cant deal with yeast, for whatsoever reason – no questions asked, this is the best recipe to try! Yeast comes with a lot of unknowns. Does it prove it time? Have it used enough? Have I used a lot? Will the dough double up? Has it proved enough? Should I proof it once or twice or thrice? Is the temperature right for my yeast? The questions are endless and you can put a full stop with this simple recipe.
So I used broccoli, baby corn, onions and tomatoes to make my tawa pizza. Usually it is recommended to flash cook the vegetables while making this pizza as it cooked on stove top but I didn’t. We like the crunch of the vegetables. To aid the pizza base to cook quickly and to make it crispy, I rolled it very thin. And I used my cast iron pan (any heavy bottomed pan preferable for best results) and it helped get it really crisp. This tawa pizza recipe turned out soft and yet crisp with lots of gooey cheese and crunchy vegetables – it really is irresistible!

I tried as you said Ramya, tasted nice, but the pizza crust was but hard
Ramya
Sorry that the crust was hard. Did you roll it too thin? Also cooking for longer time after the crust is cooked can cause it to be hard.
